Olympic Paris 2024: Anticipating the Competition Among Female Golfers

The women's golf event at the Paris 2024 Olympics will take place from August 7-10 at Le Golf National, featuring 60 golfers from 33 countries.

Notable Participants
Nelly Korda - Reigning Olympic Women's Golf Champion

The United States will be represented by Nelly Korda, the world’s number one golfer and the defending Olympic champion. She will be supported by two golfers making their Olympic debuts, Lilia Vu and Rose Zhang. South Korea will also have three representatives: Jin Young Ko, Amy Yang (winner of the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship), and Kim Hyo Joo.
Yuka Saso, a two-time U.S. Women's Open champion, will be competing for Japan for the first time since gaining citizenship in 2021. At the Tokyo Olympics, she represented the Philippines and finished in 9th place.
Meanwhile, Lydia Ko will be participating in her third consecutive Olympics, eager to win a gold medal to complete her collection of Olympic honors. In 2016, Lydia Ko finished second in Brazil, and later she won a bronze medal in Tokyo after losing to home golfer Mone Inami in a playoff.
Celine Boutier will be the host nation's medal hope after her two male colleagues were unsuccessful the previous week.

The Course

Le Golf National will see some changes compared to the men's competition. The course will have a par of 72, with the 18th hole, a par 4, being converted into a 447-yard par 5 for the women golfers.
